In the spirit of a charming website called halfbakery, this is a place to record nutty ideas. Over the years I have had a lot of ideas that later showed up, though none as good as the spray-can valve. Caveat emptor, I never thought Google or Yahoo would break even, and I never would credit ringtones as a business.
Personal cube artificial sky:
For outdoor light-deprived cube dwellers, a personal planetarium. A projector fills a curved dome over the cube with an image of the real sky. The sun tracks and sets. The moon rises, the stars rotate. An actual image can be used from an exterior camera, either local or remote, or an artificial image can be constructed.
Podcasting Racing:
Racing outside Nascar is not well covered in the US. Inexpensive on-board video cameras and podcasting could make a cooperative scheme possible. You’d have to charge a subscription fee, and you’d need ad revenue to maintain a server. Collect video after a race and edit, then put it up for downloads. The principle could work for all kinds of sports.
Meccano for Builders:
Get a project going where the various parts of motorcycles are captured in 3D files and frame materials are added so you can build a 3D model of a custom bike. Add kinetics and FEA.
